Valéria Weber

Born in São Paulo, Brazil. Lives and works in São Paulo. Valéria’s work begins with gesture, marking a sudden and immediate journey on the canvas. Not instinctive, but conscious. This is just the beginning of the process in which the drawing plays the role of a sketch and is then structured into shapes. From then on, what matters are the serialized developments that the artist develops, increasing, reducing, erasing and remaking shapes. The “In Natura” exhibition was born from research into his works. It is divided between works inspired by Burle Marx’s floor plans and works that offer a view of tropical vegetation. It is also an invitation to contemplate the nature around us (our garden) and to value our identity.
