Marcus Vinicius (São Paulo, 1967) has a degree in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts of São Paulo and began participating in exhibitions in Brazil in the early 1990s. Based on the idea of “frame structure”, a set of rules created by himself to guide his production process, Marcus Vinicius explores the properties of industrial materials and colors. His paintings dialogue with the universe of industry, without, however, are entirely handed over to him. Governed by the order of serial production and mathematical combinations, these works may initially appear impersonal and hermetic, but, upon closer inspection, they reveal the complex relationship between their elements. is, from the beginning, managed by a sensitive intelligence: the shapes, color combinations and material variations are carefully chosen and thought out by the artist, who, in a much less accelerated time than the industry, articulates them in the search for adjustment of an internal chemistry of the painting.
